ABOUT

Dannielle Gayle is a Jamaican contemporary artist that explores the narratives of identity through adaptation. As a Caribbean native now residing in America, the construct of her identity has been tailored to conform and assimilate. Her narratives of representation seeks to potty images of people that share a similar cultural experience. Self presentation incites the desire to reframe the way society exploits and appropriates various aspects of the Jamaican culture; whilst tackling the stigma of being Black in America.
